Okay, I bought the game on steam back in win 7, installed windows 10 fresh (its still mostly 8.1 under the hood) shogun 2 wouldnt play at all, went up and down every help forum google could find. NOTHING worked.
I downloaded this version, applied the crack that came with it to my already installed steam version, and it works perfectly now.
Y’all totally 1-upped sega. I don’t even care that I have to (tunngle) LAN-party for multiplayer. It works, I’m happy.

You have to make sure your antivirus will ignore the game’s folder, and probably turn it off during install.

i can’t make it work, installed it but can’t find the crack, when i go to shogun 2 desktop short cut is says ”this is not the .exe you are looking for”, then i go to the folder but when i go to launcher it says ” failed to iniciate steam, are you running steam?”, i have steam on but it still doesn’t launch, colud someone help me please.

Got to file where you first clicked “setup”, there is a file called “PROPHET” open that and highlight all of the items, right click, and hit copy. Now go to your desktop and right click the Shogun image, select “Open file location”. Finally, paste the files you previously copied into that folder and allow them to replace the current files, then just just the game from that folder.
I get an error when I attempt to run the exe of, “The “steam_api_ext.dll” file which contains your execution key is missing or is corrupted.
I’m not sure there is much else I can do but try to download all the gbs again and hope it isn’t corrupted this time either.
Does it also contain all the patches?
